December 1, 2021 – EdIncites®, the leading provider of flexible teaching and learning solutions, announced today the hire of Sarah Burk as Executive Director of Project Implementation. In her role at EdIncites, Burk will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s strategy around alternative education options for underserved populations. The hire follows a year of strong growth for the company, including a successful merger with Acceleration Academies, which added four new academies to its roster in 2021.
“Sarah is an accomplished leader in ensuring that all learners have access to quality education,” said EdIncites co-CEO Steve Campbell. “We are lucky to have a passionate advocate and voice such as Sarah join our team and support our mission of serving all learners.”
Burk brings extensive experience and leadership in alternative education to EdIncites. Prior to joining EdIncites, Burk was the Director of Alternative Education for two juvenile justice centers, a behavior day school and a mental health hospital. She began her career as a special education teacher, later serving as an instructional coach, supervisor and director.
As part of her role to manage alternative education strategy, Burk will spearhead the expansion of career and technical education programs into the Acceleration Academies model.
“I’m thrilled to become a part of this organization that remains committed to reaching all populations of learners,” said Burk. “I look forward to continuing the momentum and innovation around equitable learning opportunities.”
This announcement comes as EdIncites wraps up an exciting year of growth. Acceleration Academies added four new academies to its roster in 2021: Lowcountry (South Carolina), Escambia County (Florida), Ector County (Texas) and Wichita County (Kansas).
